The First Alarm Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the mental health and wellness of first responders and their families. We provide resources, education, and community outreach to break the stigma around mental health in the first responder community.
The Foundation was created in honor of Lt. Alex Acosta, a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Air Rescue Lieutenant, whose legacy continues through our mission to ensure that no first responder or family faces mental health struggles alone.
We serve first responders — including firefighters, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, EMS personnel — and their families. Our programs also extend to community members who want to learn more about supporting those who serve.
We offer educational workshops, peer support connections, access to mental health resources, and community events that promote awareness and wellness.
While we do not provide direct therapy, we connect individuals to trusted mental health professionals who specialize in first responder wellness.
You can fill out the contact form on our website or email us directly at FirstAlarmFoundation@gmail.com to schedule a training, workshop, or speaking engagement
You can support us by donating, volunteering, attending our events, or becoming a community partner. Every contribution helps us continue our mission to strengthen first responder mental health.
